The choice of ashwood for Bogarel luxurious cat trees

All the designer cat furniture is made of ashwood which comes from protected French forests in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region. Ashwood is resistant to cold, humidity and heavy loads.

Designer Sacha Lakic chose solid ashwood for the Bogarel natural cat trees and beds. Ashwood is appreciated for its contemporary look, its unique grain and its elegant texture.

The spheres are available in three colours: brownie, caramel or cappuccino. These three colours allow each person to choose the piece of furniture that best suits their interior.

Luxury cat trees made from PEFC-certified ash

All the Bogarel modern cat trees are made from PEFC-guaranteed wood.

The Bogarel solid wood collection uses PEFC-certified ash. This certification confirms that a specific forest area is managed according to its principles and criteria. This means that the wood used to make a Bogarel natural wooden cat tree comes from responsibly managed forests, which offer environmental, social and economic benefits.

Natural cat tree spheres made by a woodturner in France

Each sphere and half-sphere of the Bogarel design cat furniture is unique. Handcrafted by a French woodturner, Bogarel spheres require a lot of time and rare know-how.
Woodturning is an ancestral skill that has become rare over time. Only a few craftsmen in France still handle the art of making large wooden half-spheres by hand. This art is listed in the Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage in France as a skill to be developed and protected.

Wood: a material appreciated by cats

Solid ash wood is appreciated by cats because it echoes the elements they can find in nature. Bogarel products remind them of the trees they climb and rest on.

Also, the solid ashwood heats up very quickly and offers unrivalled comfort, allowing cats to relax in a reassuring environment.

Bogarel design cat trees are environmentally friendly

In addition to using materials from protected forests, Bogarel's wooden cat trees fight against waste and continually optimize their manufacturing process to limit their carbon footprint.

The different parts of the luxurious cat trees are manufactured in a reasonable way in order to limit product storage. Each product is made only when ordered.

Bogarel's objective is to continuously improve the production process, logistics and infrastructure of its collection in order to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

This starts with an accurate measurement of this energy consumption. An initial estimate of Bogarel's ecological footprint will therefore be made in 2023. The results will enable the production chain to be optimised in order to meet the climate challenges, in particular by finding alternatives that are more respectful of the planet.
