From dog baskets to cat trees:
creations imagined by a breeder and designed by an
award-winning designer

A collection of dog and cat beds created by two experts: a professional breeder and a designer.
The Bogarel line of designer dog and cat furniture was born of an exceptional encounter between two experts: award-winning designer Sacha Lakic, and Valérie Mounier, a professional breeder at the Clos d'Eugénie cattery. Both share a love of design and animals. Their mission: to sublimate the interior while promoting the animal's well-being.
Whether it's a pouf for dogs or an elegant cat bed, Bogarel seeks the perfect balance between beauty and function.
The beauty of the object is often overlooked when it comes to dog and cat furniture. And yet, they are an integral part of an interior. Sacha Lakic and Valérie Mounier offer true design objects that embellish the space without compromising the comfort and safety of the animal.
The process of creating Bogarel
dog baskets and cat trees.
Each Bogarel creation emanates from the same vision: to offer a design object that satisfies the needs of the dog or cat. To do this, the co-founders imagine pieces that Sacha Lakic designs, and together they choose the products that are best suited to the animal and that fit in with all types of interiors.
For the manufacturing of the dog baskets or cat trees, the process is the same: they look for eco-responsible, European produced and vegan materials that meet the aesthetic criteria of the product. Once decided, they contact craftsmen in France, Italy or Portugal to make the creations.
The designer goes on-site to talk to the manufacturers. Together they adjust and finalise the first series. Once validated, the cat trees, scratching posts and poufs are sent to Valérie Mounier. She then offers them to her British Shorthairs to check whether the animal is interested in the product, naturally understands how to use it and appreciates it. The test lasts several weeks to ensure that the materials selected are resistant.

Award-winning designer
Sacha Lakic
Sacha Lakic
Sacha Lakic is known for bringing together the beauty and functionality of the object with brilliance. Many of his creations are now must-haves, such as the Bubble Sofa (Roche Bobois) or the Gourmet buffet (Hôtel Fauchon).

He started his career in the Peugeot design office, then continued it at Yamaha-MBK. He acquired a knowledge of automotive design which requires a particular technicality. When he moved on to other areas of design, Lakic transferred this knowledge to his creations. His creative approach is fuelled by his passion for innovative technologies, movement and speed.
We find this attraction to movement and aerodynamics in the Bogarel line of designer cat furniture, whose forms are airy and fluid. His work has received numerous awards, including Time Magazine's recognition of the Venturi Eclectic as the second-best innovation of the year after the iPhone in 2007, and the Gold Award at the Luxembourg Design Awards in 2015 for the Bubble sofa by Roche Bobois.
Lakic is the author of numerous other creations, including some for the Hôtel Fauchon Paris (contemporary furniture), Mauboussin (object design), Stay Concrete (urban furniture), OWI (object design) and Voxan (motorbikes).
"I believe that objects have a soul, that passion is a vector of emotions and this is what I have always pursued through my creations: they must arouse desire and pleasure."
Sacha Lakic

The professional breeder
Valérie Mounier
The adventure begins in 2010 when she goes to an exhibition on the British breed in Paris. She fell in love with these cats of English origin and nourished her desire to become a professional breeder. In 2011, she opened her British Shorthair cattery, Le Clos d'Eugénie, in the Plaine de Versailles.
A technical training and many readings on cats allowed her to make her dream come true. The cattery was born in La Celle-Saint-Cloud in the Yvelines and moved to Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt near Versailles in 2017. A few months later, she adopted the eternal muse of the cattery: the wonderful Gracieuse Eugénie. She carefully guards her offspring and preserves her lineage.
Her approach is based on the well-being of the animal. Thanks to her years of observation, she has developed a real knowledge of the cat and their needs. She does everything possible to ensure that the litters evolve in serenity and comfort. Valerie has used a plethora of cat furniture and accessories but none of them matched her expectations.
Whether it was for their development, or in terms of the beauty of the object, nothing fully met her expectations. Her colleagues had the same problem. Many adoptive families also testified to their difficulty in finding furniture that combined aesthetics with the cat's well-being. When she met Sacha Lakic in 2019, the combination of their expertise was an obvious choice.

Succeeding in sublimating the interior of the adopters, while guaranteeing the animal's well-being, has become the mission of these two enthusiasts.
